More cancer clinical trials are being offered in Georgia than at any other time in history
Many of these are potential new cancer treatments in the final stages of evaluation — and for some patients, these options may be the best path forward in their fight against cancer. Georgia's first statewide cancer trial navigation program, Georgia Cancer Trial Finders makes it easier for oncologists, nurses and patient navigators to search and find cancer clinical trials that may be a match for their patients. We do this by:
- Providing a searchable database of cancer clinical trials. Coming soon, this online resource will be kept current with cancer trials offered in Georgia, including those involving treatments.
- Encouraging patients to explore their treatment options. The "Explore Clinical Trials" section of this site introduces Georgians to the fundamentals of cancer clinical trials and connects them to more information. Importantly, it encourages patients to consult with their healthcare providers about the possibility of trial participation.
- Connecting patients with a cancer clinical trials navigator. These professionals know Georgia’s clinical trials landscape inside and out. They’re experts in matching what’s open and available in our state with the treatment needs of patients.
Georgia CORE provides these services in collaboration with companies and providers as part of a larger effort to expand access to cancer clinical trials in Georgia.
Bringing cancer clinical trials closer to everyone in the state of Georgia is a high priority, and it has been since Georgia CORE launched in 2003. Trials can offer the most innovative treatments available to patients today, while advancing research for patients in the future.
