President & CEO

With a 25-year career in university administration and management, Lynn is a former Georgia CORE director and volunteer and three-time cancer survivor. She is the mother of twins – a grown son and daughter who share in her love of sports, especially watching the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. For Georgia CORE, Lynn works with partners and the board of directors to lead the organization’s efforts to improve access to clinical trials, as well as personalized cancer care and support for patients, survivors, and caregivers. She also conducts critical outreach on behalf of the organization to state legislators and officials.

Lynn spent the majority of her career in higher education administration at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she served as associate vice president and chief of staff to President G.P. “Bud” Peterson and later as vice president for Institute Relations where she oversaw federal, state, and local government and community relations, as well as economic development interactions with state and local governments.

She holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Georgia, a master’s degree in Public Administration from Kennesaw State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Radford University in Radford, Virginia. Lynn was recently named a "Woman to Watch" by Georgia Trend Magazine and is frequently named among its "Georgia 500 Most Influential Leaders," as well as Atlanta Business Chronicle’s "Health Care Heroes."

An alumna of the 2013 class of Leadership Georgia, Lynn was previously a member of the Science ATL and Midtown Alliance boards of directors. She currently serves on the selection committee for the Georgia Women of Achievement Award, the nominating committee for the Ivan Allen Prize Jr. for Social Courage, and on the board of directors of the Ovarian Cancer Institute. At First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, she is an ordained elder and serves as a member of Session, the Community Ministries Council, and the Personnel Resources Committee. Lynn is also a co-chair of the Georgia Cancer Control Consortium, a member of the executive committee of Georgia NCORP (NCI Community Oncology Research Program), and the board of directors of the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology.

"Cancer disparity researchers study these gaps and how to close them....But the AACR report found that federal policy changes have affected about 93% of surveyed researchers in this field." Sad truth. Perfect opportunity. Donate to cancer research being conducted right here in Georgia by supporting Georgia CORE.

We're thrilled to share the latest issue of Atlanta Medicine featuring many of our Board members, including Chair Dr. Roland Matthews of Grady Health System, pictured on the cover. We're grateful to MAA for allowing us to assist in selecting a handful of oncologists to author articles on cancer screenings, clinical trials, genetic testing and more. Check it out and please share!

Did you hear? We're putting weird looking stools all over bars and coffee shops to get Georgians talking about WEIRD LOOKING STOOLS. WHY? COLON CANCER. It's growing at an alarming rate in younger people. It kills more Georgians than almost any other cancer. By 2030, it will be the #1 cancer killer of people under 50.

Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology is partnering with Georgia CORE to support the Georgia Cancer Trial Finders pilot! This innovative service helps oncology providers identify clinical trials for their patients and connect directly with research staff across Georgia. Clinical trials offer access to groundbreaking treatments - and patients are more likely to participate when trials are available close to home.
