Charles H. Nash, III, MD, FACP

Committee Chair

Medical Director, Cancer Services & Research, Northeast Georgia Health System

Dr. Nash is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, and he received his medical degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and his Oncology and Hematology fellowship at the University of Arizona Health Science Center.

Thereafter he entered the clinical practice of Hematology and Oncology in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was the Director of the Cancer Center at St. John Medical Center. He was elected to serve two terms as President of the Oklahoma Society of Clinical Oncology. After moving back to Texas, he assumed the role of President and CEO of the Don and Sybil Cancer Center in Amarillo, Texas. He eventually moved to Gainesville and worked as a practicing medical oncologist at the Longstreet Clinic for the past 22 years.

He served on the Board of Trustees for the Association of Community Cancer Centers, and he was the National Medical Director for the Association of Cancer Executives and served on the Board of Directors for that organization. He worked on Capitol Hill in support of oncology-related legislation and patient advocacy. He was a consultant to the country of Ukraine following the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl to assess its oncology response and needs.

Dr. Nash is a principal investigator for Georgia NCORP, multiple NCI clinical trials, and pharmaceutical trials.
